2009-10 Season Outlook
The women's track and field team returns to AUS competition for another
season as the defending AUS champions for the 20th consecutive year.
This year's squad will be led by 2009 AUS MVP and first team all-star,
Celia Peters and four-time AUS all-star, Susan Sobey.
Peters (New Glasgow, NS) led the team to a tenth place finish at the
2009 CIS championships with a seventh place effort in the 600m event,
while Sobey (Searletown, PE) placed ninth in the 60m, an event she
has made the final in each of the last three years.
Caroline Schlosser (Edmonton, AB), the 2008 AUS Championship MVP will
also be one to watch in the 1500m and 3000m events after coming off
her best cross country season to date with a 12th place finish at the
2009 CIS cross country championships. She will be joined by cross country
teammates Cara Groves (Richmond Hill, ON) and middle distance runners
Sarah Currie (Halifax, NS), Rebecca Reeves (New Ross, NS), Erin Ready
(Lindsay, ON) and Erin Maguire (Paget, Bermuda).
In the field events, rookie thrower Elizabeth MacDonald (Oromocto,
NB), should produce some great results in the discus and hammer throw.
